Terms of Service

Welcome to Teepo! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legal agreement between you and Teepo (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the Teepo iOS app, the teepo.club website, and related features (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Services. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise accessing the Services, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Teepo.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Teepo
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
• You must not be barred from using the Services under the law of any jurisdiction that applies to you
• If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you must have authority to bind that organization to these Terms

2. Your Account

• You agree to provide accurate, current, complete information at sign-up and keep it up to date
• You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity that results from disclosure of your credentials
• You may not transfer, lend, or share your account with anyone else
• Notify us immediately if you discover unauthorized use of your account

3. Acceptable Use

When using Teepo, you agree to abide by the rules below. Violating any of them may result in warnings, content removal, account suspension, or legal action:

• No harassment, stalking, threats, abuse, or defamation of any user
• No hate speech or discriminatory content (based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, etc.)
• No sexually explicit, violent, gory, illegal, or objectionable content
• No impersonation or false representation of affiliation with anyone or any entity
• No fraud, money laundering, pyramid schemes, or any unlawful commercial activity
• No commercial promotion, advertising, or solicitation in or via the Services (outside of any partner program we explicitly authorize)
• No scraping, bots, automated scripts, or other automated means to access, harvest, or collect data from the Services
• No reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to obtain the source code
• No interference with or disruption of the Services, their servers, or their networks
• No circumvention of our security measures, content moderation, reporting systems, or account bans
• No collection or storage of other users’ personal information for purposes outside the Services

Zero-Tolerance Policy. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on Teepo. You must agree to these Terms in order to use the app, and you agree not to post objectionable content or to abuse or harass other users.

To keep the community safe, Teepo provides mechanisms to (1) filter objectionable content, (2) report or flag objectionable content, and (3) block abusive users. You can use these tools directly from the relevant content or user’s profile within the app.

We review reported content and act within 24 hours of receiving a report — removing the offending content and ejecting the user who provided it. Any user who posts objectionable content or engages in abusive behavior will be removed.

4. User Content

Anything you create, upload, post, or share on Teepo — including profile details, avatars, photos, session content, chat messages, ratings, reviews, check-ins — is collectively “User Content.”

Ownership. You retain ownership and intellectual-property rights in your User Content.

License grant. You grant Teepo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, display, and distribute your User Content to the extent necessary to operate, promote, and improve the Services. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must retain for backup, compliance, or dispute resolution.

Responsibility. You represent that you have the rights to post the User Content and you are responsible for its legality and accuracy. We do not endorse or verify User Content but reserve the right to remove anything that violates these Terms or the law.

5. Off-App Meetings (Important Disclaimer)

Teepo is a platform that helps you connect with other golfers. All off-app meetings, rounds, and travel are entirely your own decision and responsibility.

• We do not verify user identity. Aside from what you voluntarily submit, we do not verify name, age, gender, handicap, skill, health, or any other characteristic.
• Use your own judgment. Conduct reasonable due diligence before meeting someone you do not know; we recommend first meetings in public, populated places.
• You are responsible for your own safety. You bear full responsibility for your personal safety, property, and the consequences of your conduct.
• We assume no liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Teepo is not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, dispute, or liability arising from off-app meetings or any user-to-user interaction.

If you or anyone else faces an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately (911 in the US; 110/120 in mainland China; the equivalent number in your country).

6. Paid Items

Teepo's core features are free. The only things you can currently pay for are (a) registration fees for in-person official events organized by Teepo and (b) Teepo merchandise. Both are physical goods or services delivered outside the app. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, and accept Apple Pay and major cards; Teepo never stores your full card number. Prices are shown in US dollars (USD), and any applicable tax is shown before you pay. Cancellation and refund rules for each payment are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

If we introduce in-app digital content, premium features, or subscriptions in the future, those will be sold through Apple App Store in-app purchase, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms, with billing and auto-renewal rules disclosed separately.

7. Termination

Your termination right. You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your account in-app or by email (see the Privacy Policy).

Our termination right. If you violate these Terms, abuse the Services, put other users at risk, or we believe it is necessary to protect the Services or users, we may suspend or terminate your account and remove your content without prior notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, dispute resolution) remain in effect.

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, freedom from errors, uninterrupted operation, or freedom from viruses. We do not warrant that:

• The Services will meet your specific needs
• The Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Information presented in the Services (including course data and member profiles) is accurate
• People you connect with through the Services will show up as agreed, behave appropriately, or possess the skills they claim

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Teepo or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or personal injury) arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services.

If applicable law does not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our total liability to you (under contract, tort, or any other legal theory) will not exceed the amounts you actually paid us for the Services in the preceding 12 months — or, if no amounts were paid, USD $100 (or the local-currency equivalent).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Teepo and its affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, your infringement of third-party rights, or your User Content.

11. Third-Party Services

The Services may link to or integrate with third-party services (Google Maps, Apple, Anthropic, etc.). Those services are governed by their own terms and fall outside the scope of these Terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

12. Intellectual Property

Teepo’s brand, name, logo, UI design, source code, documentation, and related intellectual property belong to Teepo. These Terms do not grant you any express or implied license to use the foregoing, except the User Content license in Section 4.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, the dispute will be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction in Hangzhou.

If you reside outside mainland China, you may have rights under mandatory local consumer-protection law. Nothing in these Terms limits any such non-waivable rights.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and the “Effective” date at the top will be updated. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the new Terms, stop using the Services and delete your account.

15. Entire Agreement & Severability

These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and Teepo regarding the Services. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
